Transgender Resources in Colorado

In an ongoing effort to meet the needs of our community, I offer the following list as a resource to our members and readers. Please remember that we are here for you! Support Group info for Colorado is listed below this first section. If you find an error or omission please email me the info so I can correct this oversight and please be specific.

Of course the first place that comes to mind is the Gender Identity Center of Colorado located in Denver. They have recently expanded their services focusing on Counseling, Support, and Education.  They offer low cost counseling and guidance in transition by professionals.  The counseling is available now over Skype with the first two appointments in person.  Karen Scarpella, PhD leads the clinical team and supervises all counselors.  A Speakers Bureau offers speakers to educate any group about Transgender or related subjects. Contact them to schedule an informative presentation. Support groups meet throughout the week and special events occur throughout the month.  They have drop in hours now seven days a week 9a -9p, unless otherwise posted. The next go to place in Colorado is the GLBT Center who offers weekly transgender social and support programs, an excellent legal department, and ongoing educational and networking sessions throughout the year.  They have a Jobs program, SAGE for the older crowd, and more.  They are well funded and offer Rainbow Alley for the younger generations, 17 and under.  For more visit their site,

TransAction is the next place on the list located in east Denver off Colfax Ave.  Join their exciting, fun, and educational programs where they share information, support each other and learn how to stay healthy, safe, and proactive. They meet every Wednesday from 3-5 pm. Free HIV and STD testing is offered every day from 10am until 3pm. PAGE, Peak Area Gender Expressions is the group in Colorado Springs.  They offer support groups for transgender people, friends and family.  This group is socially focused with opportunities to express yourself in public outings with experienced individuals of like mind.  They also have resources concerning transgender issues including, health, legal, activism, and shopping in the Colorado Springs area.  They meet 7pm the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at Pikes Peak Metropolitan Community Church, 1102 South 21st Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80904.  They also have Support groups for GenderQueer (Building Real Identities anD Gender Expressions – BRIDGE group), SOFFA (Family Group), and Military, see below for more details.  PAGE website –, Email, for more info and ask to be added to their mailing list. Pueblo Trans Support Group – Pueblo has their own Transgender Support Group: Meets every 1st and 3rd Saturday 6pm at the Colorado Wins building, 304 S Union Pueblo CO 81002 — phone 719-250-8667.  Moderated by Rev John Mark Hild Pastor, this is a safe and moderated open drop in support group for those who may be questioning their gender or feel that their gender or sexual identity falls somewhere outside of societies perceived parameters of gender. This is a safe space and forum for those who identify as Gender Queer, Gender Variant, Bi-gendered, Pan-gendered, Trans Butch, Trans Fem., Transgender, Transsexual, FTM, MTF, or identify with multiple genders or shun all labels.

NoCoPride is now the place to go in Ft. Collins.  Support groups and other social activities in the Fort Collins area are now found at  Eclectic Transgender Support & Social Group is the place for education, support, and social activities for the Transgender/Genderqueer/Intersex community of Northern Colorado. Support Group meets the 1st Tuesday of every month with discussion and support with a formal facilitator.  Check out the community calendar at the NoCoPride website. Please with questions and to learn the location of meetings.

One Colorado is a statewide advocacy organization dedicated to securing and protecting equality and opportunity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) Coloradans and their families.  They work toward this goal by effectively advocating for LGBT Coloradans and their families, lobbying the General Assembly, executive branch, and local governments on issues like safe schools, relationship recognition, and LGBT health and human services.  Their vision is a fair and just Colorado. – GLBTQ group with Colorado State Univ. in association with One Colorado

The Open and Affirming Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity Support (OASOS) Program offers free and confidential services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, intersexed, and questioning (LGBTIQ) youth, including: peer support groups in Boulder and Longmont, advocacy and a variety of support/counseling services, referrals to health and community services, free testing for HIV and sexually transmitted infections, and more.  Located at 529 Coffman Longmont, CO 80501, Call (303) 678-6259, or visit web link below.

Survivors Organizing for Liberation (SOL) formerly known as Colorado Anti-Violence Programoffers support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersexed, and questioning (LGBTIQ) victims of violence and hate crimes, as well as educational resources for the community. Located at 1600 Downing Street Denver, CO 80218.  Call (303) 839-5204, or visit web link or

Project Visibility is an award-winning training for service providers that highlights the lives, needs, and concerns of local lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) elders in Boulder County. PFLAG Denver, offers specialized support for persons striving to understand a loved one’s sexual orientation or gender expression and associated issues, namely:
A New Families Group meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month at the Tears-McFarlane Mansion at 1290 Williams Street Denver CO.  There is also a Open to All Suppport Group at the same time — at 6:30 PM

SAGE of the Rockies, offers activities and events that focus on health, housing, legal and financial planning, legacy, and social connection, specifically for LGBT persons age 50+.  The Center and OutBoulder are affiliate members of the nation wide network, so this means they administer the programs in their respective communities.

Tau Sigma Kappa (TSK), the Colorado and Wyoming chapter of
Tri-Ess, a national organization for the support of heterosexual cross-dressers, no longer exists. The TSK Chapter was formed in 2001. It’s mission was to provide a welcoming social and
educational environment for heterosexual cross-dressers (CDs) and their families.

The Mile High Transgendered Meet-up Group no longer exists.

Greeley Support Group
The Greeley transgender support group has developed a facebook page and would like you to join. It is called GenderQuest Colorado. Information regarding meetings will be posted on this site. Also, there are no longer meetings at the Unitarian Universalist Church. Instead, there are group events which are channeled to being in the public eye. You are all invited to join the support outings at anytime it is convenient for you. Please join GenderQuest on facebook to get the information. (Contact Corina Feather,, for more information).

Trans-Older Peer Support Group, Louisville CO, has been cancelled, effective March 11, 2015. While attendance numbered as many as six individuals (from across the metro area), the group never gained consistent traction.  The Boulder County Area Agency on Aging expresses its gratitude to volunteer co-facilitators Nicole Garcia and Dana Wallingford for their twice monthly commitment, recently in snowy, frigid weather. Dana has offered to collect feedback on the time, location, etc. for future reference. Please e-mail, and they will forward messages.

Eastern Boulder County Trans* and GNC Support Group
Spreading the word! Support group for trans, genderqueer, gender fluid, gender non-conforming, and questioning folks in Longmont, held on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month, 4-6 pm at 1303 Bross Lane, Longmont CO 80501. The group is facilitated by transgender and gender non-conforming leaders in the Longmont community. Contact Sara Connell with questions.

Pueblo Trans* Support Group
Meets on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month in the basement of St Peter’s Episcopal Church, 3939 W Pueblo Blvd, Pueblo, CO 81005 at 6:00pm. Genderations is a group committed to providing support to gender variant individuals across the spectrum including folks that identify as trans, transgender, transsexual, drag King/Queen, cross dresser, MTF, FTM, gender queer, etc.

Transgender Support Group for Military Veterans
in Colorado Springs, their first meeting is Friday, October 3rd, 9am-10am!

Dr. Brann will be facilitating a new Trans support group “Transitions” just for our military veterans in Colorado Springs!  All transgender, gender fluid, and gender curious veterans are welcome. Participants need to be a veteran and will be asked to register with Veteran’s Affairs (VA) upon arrival if you have not already done so. Family Support Group in Colorado Springs

This support group is specifically for family members and friends of Transgender (TG) people.

This is a safe place to speak freely and confidentially. We will discuss our fears and concerns about loving and living with someone who is Transgender. Whether your loved one is questioning, “In the closet”, transitioning or anywhere on the gender identity spectrum, we will share experiences and encouragement.

To ensure open dialogue, we are asking that TG people not attend the family only meeting.  This is free to all who attend.

Meetings are held the 2nd Wednesdays of every month at 7pm.
